A. Q. What is the timeframe for this promotion?
A. This promotion is valid for eligible purchases made from September 22, 2011 through December 15, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT). Redemptions must be made by April 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT).
Q. What is the benefit of VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite Standard 5.0?
A. VMware vCenter Operations is an automated operations management solution that provides integrated performance, capacity and configuration management for highly virtualized cloud infrastructures.
Q. Is there a detailed SKU list posted for eligible products that must be purchased on the order to take advantage of this promotion?
A. Yes. Please refer to the list of eligible skus.
Q. What if I buy through a channel partner, will my order(s) be eligible?
A. This promotion is available to all end-use customers who place an order containing an eligible vSphere 4 or vSphere 5 SKU from a VMware authorized reselling partner, from the VMware website or directly from VMware, including true-up orders. This promotion is not available on any orders received by VMware from EMC.  It is also not available to OEM partners ordering directly from VMware, except orders via Enterprise License Agreements or purchase orders where customer’s name, address, email address and ship-to information is provided to VMware.
Redemption:
Q. When will I be able to redeem the promotion offer?
A. You will receive a notification email within 30 days of VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite Standard 5.0 general availability or within 30 days after you place the eligible order, whichever is later. Promotion offer must be redeemed by April 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT).
Q. Who would receive the Promotional Code email?
A. Promotional code emails are sent to the PLA (Primary License Administrator) on the qualifying order. The PLA for an order is typically the person who had placed the order.
Q. What happens if I lose or don’t redeem the promotion offer before it expires on April 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT)?
A. The redemption period of this promotion is only available until April 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT). We will not be able to re-issue you the free offer.
Q. Can I get temporary keys for this offer today?
A. No. VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite Standard 5.0 license will only be fulfilled when VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite Standard 5.0 becomes generally available or within 30 days after you place an eligible order, whichever is later.

Q. What Support and Subscription (SnS) offering is included for the VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite Standard 5.0 promotion?
A. Included in this promotion is one (1) year of Basic Support and Subscription (SnS) is at no additional charge.
Q. Can I pay an additional fee and request Production Support and Subscription (SnS) with this promotional license?
A. No. An upgrade to Production SnS is not available with this promotional license.
Q. When will the Support and Subscription (SnS) contract begin? What happens after the first year?
A. Your SnS contract for VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite Standard 5.0 will begin the day you redeem the promotion offer and will end one year from that date. Approximately 90 days before the expiration of this SnS contract, you will receive a quote to renew at the then-current list prices. At the time of renewal, you may upgrade your SnS agreement from VMware Basic Support to VMware Production Support.
Q. How do I receive support once I redeem the promotion code and install the license keys?
A. When you redeem the promotion offer, a one-year Basic Support and Subscription contract will be created. Learn how to request support..
