Systems Engineer

Primary Function
Delivers technical expertise for solution implementation to customers based on products and services. Keeps abreast of market trends and competitive products, and identifies competitive differentiators. Engaged throughout the sales process, including requirements analysis, feature demonstrations, benchmarking, competitive positioning, and execution. Owns the deal’s technical closure. Understands customer’s technology, products, test requirements to recommend solutions to meet their needs, and ensures customer satisfaction. May build mini-applications based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping. Integrates products and services at the system/solutions level into customer’s environment and ensures interoperability within the customer environment. Acts as the customer voice to influence future product design to meet customer needs. May be regional or product/technology focused. May deliver customer training classes and consulting related to installed solution and applications.

Systems Engineer
• Provides technical contribution and support in the sales of strategic, complex or advanced systems or applications
• Designs solutions, which may encompass multiple technology areas.
• Gains commitment from customer and management for the technical solutions.
• Defines acceptance criteria.
• Uses good judgment to determine and develop technical approaches and techniques for solutions to customer problems
• Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
• Organizes and maintains beta programs within region
• Territory/Regional Sales assignment
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Typically 3 to 8 years’ experience in the Data Networking, Telecom or Test capacity:
• Must be recognized as technically competent on two or more areas of technology.
• Strong Solution Architecture and customer solution problem solving skills.
• Can-Do attitude including overcoming “can’t do” attitudes and challenges
