请教有关思科设备主备引擎切换测试的问题

1台N7K和1台ASR1006，因为都是使用了几年的老设备了，现在用户希望能在不影响业务的情况下，测试下设备的主备引擎切换功能是否正常。
我查了下命令，有说使用redundancy force-switchover命令，使主引擎down掉，从而强制进行主备引擎切换，但我不清楚这样做是不是相当于把主引擎关掉啊？要还原为成原来的主引擎Active，备用引擎Standby该怎么做啊？
也看到说使用system switchover命令强制“Standby” 状态转换成 “Active” 状态，但这样貌似由不能测试主引擎挂掉后，备用引擎是否是自动切换的。所以希望有大神能指导下，谢谢了。两台设备的准备引擎状态如下：
